Mari started to have problems with moovement at the age
around 5,5 months.
First x-ray did not show any dysplasy or illness of bones. She did not
turn better and so there was taken another x-ray some days later.
Second x-ray shown symptoms of hips dysplasia on Mari´s right hip, however
her left hip was quite OK.
To safe Mari´s life, Johanna and Mervi ordered an operation for her.
Unfortunately, the illness had extremly quick progression. Mari was
ordered to be operated on 07.12.2007 by orthopedic specialist DVM Jan Räiha in Finland.
Unfortunately 3rd x-ray shown very serious luxation of right hip and
serious subluxation of left hip too with great damage of pelvis structure.
There were not any chance to safe Mari´s life.
Mari was put slept Friday, 07.12.2007 at age of only 6 months and 13 days.
We will miss You and will allways keep You in our hearts!
Depressed from the situation I started to search around
for more informations. It seems that such quick progression of dysplasy is
not normal. DVM.Ekr, the hips specialist from our country, after viewing
of attached document wrote me, that it was not normal process of hips
dysplasy like is known from dogs, but something what is calling here "acute"
dysplasy - failure of all mechanismus of joint development (it mean
muscles, sinews, ligaments, etc). He saw something like that only
few times in his profession and never on Belgians and he think, there is
not high risk to find affected littermates. We deeply hope, it will be
true.
If anyone knows similary case or if anyone knows about hips
dysplasy in similary blood, please
contact us! It
can help us very much! Thank You.
